NEWFIELD, N.Y. — Finger Lakes Distilling Co., one of New York’s pioneering craft spirits makers, has opened a second location at 1143 Elmira St. (Route 13) in Newfield, near Ithaca. The expansion, which began operations in December 2024, complements its original site on Route 414 in Burdett, established in 2007.
The new facility includes a tasting room offering spirits, light food, and bottles for purchase. Owner Brian McKenzie noted the additional space will support bottling operations, currently based in Burdett, and provide storage and aging for their products. Known for its McKenzie whiskeys and gins, Finger Lakes Distilling uses local grains and fruits to create its spirits, including its new Mac’s premium cocktail mixers.
Located near Robert Treman State Park and Ithaca Beer Co., the Newfield site joins a region rich in breweries and wineries. A collaboration with Ithaca Beer Co. will soon debut a distilled version of the brewery’s Flower Power IPA.
