Trumansburg’s board of education has chosen current high school principal Megan Conaway to lead the district as the next superintendent, following the retirement of long-time Superintendent Kimberly Bell.
The board conducted an extensive search process, soliciting community feedback through a survey that identified desired characteristics in the next superintendent, such as a background in teaching, strong communication and financial management skills, and a commitment to the community and staff. The board ultimately selected Conaway, who has served as high school principal for seven years and has an educational background that includes a master’s degree and advanced leadership certifications.
Conaway will assume the superintendent role on Jan. 11, 2025. The district has now begun accepting applications for the high school principal position, which will be vacant when Conaway transitions to the superintendent role.
