OTSEGO COUNTY, N.Y. — A Waterville man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly stealing $31,000 from an elderly couple.

Joseph Bard, 38, is accused of making over 100 transactions to withdraw funds from the couple’s account over several months.

The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Bard transferred the stolen money to his own account. He was located at a residence in Waterville with the help of the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and was arrested without incident.

Bard was processed and remanded to the Otsego County Jail pending arraignment.
